Here's a very handy little crib from Edgar/K4YF for use in calculating the value of variables in simple circuit design |
It's designed to take the strain off the process of finding out, for example, how much power will be dissipated in that resistor when I run 42 amperes through it.
Example: The NW quadrant contains the variable P (power). If you know the current (I) and the value of the resistor (R), the the power dissipated will be the current-squared multiplied by the resistance. How's that for easy!
