The original KB4TOH (now KX4NC) repeater went on the air July 4th weekend, 1989 the frequency was 145.11.  The original repeater was a GE Master Pro, later upgraded to the present ICOM.  After years of upgrades and work we finally moved to our new location in July. The repeater is now located on the 1200 foot platform on WUNC tower in Columbia.

VHF Repeater Kenwood TKR 720

Transmit 146.835 antenna Sinclair 210 @ 1280 feet fed with 75 feet of 7/8 inch hard line.

Receive 146.235 antenna Sinclair 210 @ 1150 feet fed with 95 feet of 1/2 inch hard line.

Mobile coverage area is near 80 miles.  Coverage areas includes Hatteras, New Bern, Farmville, Tarboro, Gates County, Elizabeth City, Currituck County, Southern Virginia and Dare County.  The repeater ERP is 200 watts


UHF Repeater Kenwood TKR 820

Transmit 443.300 @ 1200 feet Receive 448.300 @ 1200 feet on DB420 antenna with duplexer.  Feed line is 15 feet of RG214.  

Mobile Coverage is near 70 miles and serves the same areas as the VHF repeater.  The repeater ERP is 80 Watts.


Packet node ECDX4 445.900 is transmitting on a 1/4 wave antenna mounted on the repeater cabinet @ 1200 feet with an ERP of 15 watts.  It's fed with 5 feet of RG58.


A receive antenna has been added to increase coverage in Gates county area.
